Summary
The DevOps Engineer will be maintaining current platform sustainability and delivering new features that provide a high level of impact to the business. Working in a highly technical team, the DevOps Engineer will be bringing AWS infrastructure to life, supporting the cloud engineering team, maintaining CI/CD pipelines and broader tooling and infrastructure for the engineering team by performing the following duties:
Essential Duties
Maintaining the organization's digital infrastructure in the long term.
Collaborating with both engineering and product teams on building services and applications.
Conducting analyses, and feeding this data back to the development team to support their efforts.
Implementing and improving CI/CD pipelines with automated build and test systems.
Developing and maintaining the organization's AWS infrastructure with a focus on IaC automation, application security, observability, and cost optimization.
Implementing and maintaining security measures across the organization's IT systems and enforcing security policies and procedures to protect against cyber threats.
Planning the evolution of software and IT systems.
Creating and maintaining necessary technical documentation and artifacts.
Staying on top of industry best practices and trends, as well as changes to compliance requirements.
Job Duties

Perform routine application support and maintenance to ensure the production environment runs smoothly.
Participate in initiatives to define and implement DevOps solutions which include reference architectures, effort estimates, and costing.
Work with developers and product owners to estimate the size and scope of work.
Analyze the technology currently being used and develop plans and processes for improvement and expansion.
Recommends performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications.
Participate in project planning meetings to share knowledge of system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits.
Propose, describe, and defend technical solutions and make data-driven decisions

Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field; Experience with CI/CD tools (Github Action, Jenkins) and understanding of SDLC and typical software development practices/methodologies; Expert knowledge of Linux and Bash, Docker, Docker compose; 4+ years of hands-on experience in AWS Services, including Compute, Storage, Security, Networking, Observability, EKS, ECR, RDS, S3, EBS, ELB, Route 53, IAM, AMI, VPC, CloudWatch; Good Automation skills using AWS IaC orchestration tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, Ansible.; Proficiency in microservices, containers, and container orchestration tools, preferably Kubernetes.; Knowledge of data collecting/logging and monitoring tools: Cloud Watch, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK stack, Opsgenie; Experience in supporting SQL/NoSQL database services (RDS, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or styles. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Computer Skills
This is typically for an information technology position where the entire focus of the position is on computers or the networks on which computers communicate. Has advanced skills in working with hardware, software, support, and management of computer systems and can adapt extremely well to newer applications. Has advanced skills working with programming and networking computer software and systems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
