DevOps Engineer

About the Role 

As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll contribute your expertise to projects that directly impact our applications security and reliability. You’ll work at the intersection of connectivity, security, and infrastructure, helping our teams follow best practices and ensure compliance with internal and external security requirements. 

Your daily work will include: 

• Managing and securing our web application firewall (WAF) 

• Developing our Self-Services and opt-in the tech community to our Automated Certificate Service and Domain Management 

• Working with networking and traffic routing  

• Collaborating across the organization to design and implement secure, scalable systems

About the Team 

You’ll join a team of seven talented engineers based in the Nordics and Baltics. We’re part of Secured Data Solutions and Operations, a key area within If’s 1,000+ strong IT organization. Our focus is on critical infrastructure and external identity access management, serving millions of customers and partners. 

Collaboration is at the core of our work. You’ll work closely with Tribes and Squads across the organization, interacting with Technical Leads, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters to align on needs and best practices. 

Who You Are 

You’re a passionate and driven engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and building secure, reliable systems. You're a strong communicator who can build relationships across teams and help guide others in following best practices.

You have: 

• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in a relevant field or relevant experience

• Proven experience in IT and network-related assignments 

• Hands-on experience with several of the following: 

• Cloud services (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), preferably Microsoft Azure 

• F5, Splunk 

• Protocols such as HTTP, SOAP, REST, and TCP  

• .NET/Powershell in coding  

• Managing Linux/Unix/Windows servers 

• Network routing on osi layer 3-7 

• Experience with Azure DevOps (Repos/CI/CD) 

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) 

Bonus points if you also have: 

• Have been working with security edge layer infrastructure 

• Skills in any Nordic language 

• Experience working in a multinational environment
