Job Description:
- Work closely with development teams to understand project requirements and deploy application builds into various environments, ensuring smooth and timely releases.
- Partner with developers to create and maintain detailed environment diagrams for each application, ensuring correct configuration and seamless integration across systems.
- Apply automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD principles to enhance deployment reliability while reducing manual steps, focusing on minimizing downtime.
- Coordinate with the broader DevOps team to audit and verify configuration settings before deployments, so that each application meets operational standards and performance criteria.
- Oversee the release pipelines in Azure DevOps, including monitoring, approving, and tracking releases, build numbers, and overall application version integrity.
- Provide continuous support for applications post-deployment, troubleshooting issues, gathering developer feedback, and implementing improvements to enhance stability and performance.
- Research, plan, and implement infrastructure changes that directly benefit application performance, including server setups, load balancing, and proxy configurations.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation to support application changes, deployments, and troubleshooting processes, ensuring clear communication across teams.
- Lead and manage projects and incident resolutions through an IT ticketing system, coordinating investigations and responses in partnership with both development and support teams.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to manage after-hours jobs, alerts and escalations, ensuring rapid resolution of any application-related issues.
Requirements and Skills:
- 3–5 years of experience in application support with a strong background in utilizing DevOps practices, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and Azure DevOps.
- Post-secondary degree, diploma, or equivalent technical certification in a relevant field. Microsoft Certifications are a strong asset.
- Prior experience in SaaS support and delivery, with a focus on both IaaS and PaaS solutions within Azure environments using Azure DevOps, Octopus, etc.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly as it relates to configuring and managing Azure-based systems with ARM, Bicep and/or Terraform.
- Solid understanding of security principles in complex ecosystems and proficiency with debugging and diagnostic tools to resolve application issues effectively.
- Ability to automate common tasks with PowerShell, PowerAutomate, Azure Functions.
- Experience managing traditional server-based environments, including SFTP, IIS and SQL Server, as well as supporting third-party and in-house applications.
- Excellent communication skills for clear and effective collaboration with developers, management, and technical teams.
- Configuration hardening against standards such as NIST, STIG’s, CIS Benchmarks, etc.
- Working in a regulated environment like PCI, SOC II, ISO27001, HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues.
