Job Description:
Role Overview: You will be a subject matter expert in DevOps practices and tooling. You will have a background in infrastructure engineering and a track record of designing and delivering large-scale, highly
available systems. You will be a strong advocate for the team and share assets, ideas, designs, approaches and successes with other product delivery teams. You will be able to balance your engineering skills with strategy and design leadership.
We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, and containerization. We need our leaders to be versatile, fearless, free thinking, innovative, disruptive, enthusiastic in taking on new problems and inspirational to their reports and peers alike.
Key responsibilities:
Design and build secure CI/CD pipelines to deploy to a variety of target systems
Build GitHub actions to address a range of technical, business and security requirements
Manage the rollout and communications for CI/CD changes
Identify and write tooling to automate manual processes
Liaise with development teams on adoption of new tooling and provide assistance on pipeline development
Ensure secure patterns and best practice are applied to the creation of CI/CD pipelines to enable quality
Develop and rollout terraform to maintain CI/CD infrastructure
Work closely with Infra team
Key Skills:
Deploying applications to Kubernetes
Good knowledge of continuous integration and automated testing
Ability to learn new technologies independently
Experience in one or more popular CI platforms (e.g. GitHub actions, Jenkins, Bamboo, Travis)
Good knowledge of git and development workflows
Proficiency in GitHub actions (desirable)
Experience in GitHub Enterprise management (desirable)
Familiarity with Helm package manager and helm chart design
Strong experience in at least one major cloud platform (ideally Azure)
Knowledge of Terraform (desirable)
Good scripting skills (bash/sh/ksh)
Some coding experience in at least one of Python, JavaScript, Go
Experience using and configuring code quality checking tools (e.g. SonarQube)
Knowledge of continuous deployment and techniques for mitigating or eliminating downtime
Troubleshooting build issues for either Node and/or python
Knowledge of private package repositories (e.g. for hosting npm, PyPi, Nuget)
