The Role

As a DevOps Engineer for Kardex AutoStore North America, you will be responsible for efficient management of cloud infrastructure and integration of cloud software products for both internal and customer hosting environments. You will work closely with our development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and optimize performance and scalability of our applications. You will be responsible for streamlining software development workflows, deploying applications, and ensuring the reliability of our systems. 

Your tasks

CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, implement, and manage automated continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines targeting Azure as well as on-premise environments to support fast, reliable releases. 

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Build and manage infrastructure ideally in Azure using a declarative framework such as Bicep Files, or in a comparable manner using tools like Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or other IaC frameworks to automate the provisioning and configuration of cloud environments. 

Cloud Platforms: Work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP to architect, deploy, and manage scalable applications. 

Automation: Automate manual processes and manage system configurations, software installations, and patches across environments. 

Monitoring & Logging: Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure high availability and performance of systems. 

Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, QA teams, and IT administrators to ensure seamless integration and deployment processes. 

Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure the system adheres to security standards, including encryption, access control, and vulnerability management. 

Incident Response: Respond to and troubleshoot system incidents, outages, and performance issues. Provide on-call support as needed. 

Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize infrastructure, applications, and pipelines for efficiency, cost, and scalability. 

Travel: Travel domestically and possibility internationally, total travel estimate is 20%

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

Excellent communication skills 

Proven experience (4+ years) in DevOps or similar role. 

Strong IT experience. 

Proficiency in Linux/Unix administration. 

Experience with version control systems like Git. 

Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Bamboo. 

Expertise in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP). 

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby. 

Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. 

Experience with configuration management tools. 

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools. 

Understanding of networking, load balancing, and firewall configurations. 

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Experience supporting and developing Warehouse control systems is preferred. 

Experience with serverless architectures and microservices. 

Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
