Your Role and Impact
As a DevOps Engineer at KingMakers, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our platforms are resilient, scalable, and deliver exceptional performance to millions of users. You will work within a dynamic team to enhance automation, streamline pipelines, and maintain high system availability for all KingMakers products.

Automation and Optimisation
- Propose and implement solutions to reduce manual toil through automation and streamline workflows.
- Automate infrastructure using Terraform and Azure DevOps Pipelines to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
Infrastructure Operations
- Plan, design, and execute configuration changes at both the application and infrastructure levels.
- Manage cloud resource provisioning and configuration in Azure (via CLI/API).
- Operate and maintain Kubernetes (AKS) environments, including CLI operations and service re-provisioning.
Collaboration with Development Teams
- Partner with product development teams to automate infrastructure for new products, ensuring smooth deployment and scaling.
- Define SLOs and SLIs that improve reliability and align teams on performance goals.
- Support teams with alerting platforms to guarantee world-class system support.
Incident Management and Emergency Response
- Act as a first responder by being on-call or reacting to system issues using established monitoring tools to ensure system reliability.
- Escalate and resolve incidents promptly to minimise downtime and ensure quick recovery.

Performance Monitoring and Observability
- Leverage tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, and Azure Monitoring to continuously enhance system observability.
- Improve logging systems using the Elastic Stack and Grafana Cloud, ensuring robust and actionable insights.
- Define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to meet availability and latency goals.
Technical Expertise and Systems Management
- Configure and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, enabling seamless deployment and integration.
- Utilise monitoring tools like Prometheus for metrics and Elastic (Kibana and APM) or Azure Monitoring (Kusto) for log analysis.
- Manage operating systems (Linux and Windows), ensuring proper configuration, troubleshooting, and package management.
- Apply networking concepts, including VPCs, proxies, and CDNs, to maintain and optimise infrastructure.
