Accenture Federal Services is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with hands‑on expertise in Kubernetes and modern containerized infrastructure to join our team and support our client in the Northern VA area. This role will support the deployment, automation, scalability, and security of Kubernetes environments across AWS—while maintaining infrastructure-as-code excellence and DevSecOps best practices. We are looking for a skilled engineer with a passion for automation and building robust systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in DevOps principles and experience across the technology stack.
What you’ll do:
As a key member of our platform engineering team, you will be responsible for the deployment, operation, and reliability of our core infrastructure. You will work with modern, cloud-native technologies to build and maintain a scalable, secure, and resilient platform that empowers our development teams.
- Kubernetes Deployment, Operations, and Reliability:
- Deploy, configure, and manage small to mid-sized, production-grade Kubernetes clusters across a complex set of environments.
- Automate and optimize deployments, services, ingress, storage, networking, and RBAC within Kubernetes.
- Troubleshoot complex platform issues within Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
- Containerization & Platform Engineering:
- Deploy and maintain containerized DevSecOps Platform services.
- Implement container best practices including image optimization, security hardening, and registry management.
- Collaborate with development teams to enable the seamless and scalable deployment of containerized workloads.
- Infrastructure as Code & Automation:
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform for AWS resources (EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, etc.).
- Build and maintain automation for configuration management using tools such as Ansible.
- CI/CD Enablement:
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments, testing, and security workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability, automation, security, and operational efficiency.
- Security & Observability:
- Configure and maintain solutions for identity, access management, and SSO, such as Keycloak, ADFS, or Zitadel.
- Implement and maintain security and compliance controls, especially in regulated environments.
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration:
- Advise on platform architecture and containerization strategies.
What you’ll need:
- 3 years of experience in a DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE role, with demonstrated experience in:
- Container technologies and orchestration with Kubernetes (e.g.: deployments, services, ingress, storage, RBAC, etc.)
- A major cloud platform, preferably AWS
- Troubleshooting complex technical issues and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and/or automation tools (e.g.: Terraform or Ansible)
- Experience in scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts (e.g.: policies, roles, service accounts)
- Must have CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8140 qualified certification at time of hire
Bonus Points if you have experience with:
- GitOps principles and tools (ArgoCD, Flux).
- Experience with EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, or CloudWatch
- Service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
- Identity and Access Management tools like Zitadel, ADFS, or Keycloak.
- Government/compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53/800-171).
- Hardening and securing platforms such as Platform One’s BigBang.
- Implementing and managing observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
- Vulnerability management and security scanning tools.
- Relevant Certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Application Developer (CKAD)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or Security Specialty
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Clearance:
Must have an active Top Secret level clearance; SCI preferred
As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides reasonable ranges of compensation for hired roles based on labor costs in the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia, and the city of Cleveland. The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below. Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
