What is Vetric?
Vetric builds large-scale public data infrastructure.
We provide data pipelines that collect, structure, and deliver high-volume public web data for mission-critical companies operating in cybersecurity, public safety and digital risk protection.
Our systems power platforms that detect bad actors, uncover impersonation and fraud, identify coordinated manipulation, and help public safety organizations respond faster to real-world risks.
We don’t build dashboards, and we don’t sell surface-level insights.
We build stable, production-grade data flows that become part of our customers’ core products, with the real impact of saving lives or huge known organizations from bad actors.
Operating globally, we serve industry leaders across more than 20 countries who rely on us for scale, reliability, and depth.
Why Vetric?
Vetric is profitable from day 1 (fully bootstrapped - means we didn’t raise any money), a fast-growing company building foundational technology - not chasing trends.
Because this is infrastructure that matters, it requires engineering discipline, ownership, and long-term thinking.
As part of our broader R&D expansion, we’re building Kraków into a key engineering hub that will own core systems and drive our next phase of innovation and growth.
The Role & The Challenge
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer, at the mid or senior level, to join our infrastructure team, reporting directly to our DevOps Team Leader. Depending on experience, this role will either contribute to or help drive advanced infrastructure initiatives — from system design through production hardening — as we raise the bar for operational excellence across the company.
The immediate challenge: Vetric operates a high-volume, multi-account AWS environment. You will help solve complex delivery, scaling, and operational problems along the way. Scope and ownership will be calibrated to your experience level.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to Cloud & Migration Strategy: Work alongside our DevOps Team Leader to help plan and execute our migration from ECS Fargate to Kubernetes (EKS) without downtime, while maintaining our existing cloud estate.
- Advance Infrastructure as Code: Design and implement modern, modular IaC frameworks utilizing Terraform and OpenTofu to ensure consistent, multi-environment deployments.
- Improve Enterprise CI/CD: Evolve our delivery pipelines (GitHub Actions, OIDC federation) at scale, reducing developer friction and elevating deployment safety across dozens of services.
- Support Data-Intensive Infrastructure: Help maintain the performance, capacity, and resilience of our high-volume data layer (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, RDS, Redis) and event-driven messaging pipelines.
- Strengthen Reliability & Observability: Help maintain organization-wide reliability standards using open, modern telemetry stacks (OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Grafana), ensuring on-call operations are driven by signal, not noise.
- Balance Growth & Governance: Participate in technical tradeoff decisions that balance velocity, least-privilege security, zero-trust access (Tailscale), and FinOps cost efficiency.
- 3+ years of hands-on DevOps, Infrastructure, or Cloud Engineering experience, with real production exposure in high-throughput, data-intensive environments.
- Cloud Expertise: Solid working knowledge of AWS architectures, including compute, networking (VPC, DNS, segmentation), IAM, and scalability patterns.
- Kubernetes Experience: Hands-on experience running and/or optimizing Kubernetes clusters (EKS) in production.
- IaC & Automation Proficiency: Strong experience with Terraform and solid scripting/software engineering skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript, plus confident Bash.
- Container & Pipeline Ownership: Familiarity with container workloads (ECS/Docker) and modern CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions) using safe rollout strategies.
- Observability: Experience designing and/or operating observability and alerting stacks (metrics, logs, traces, SLOs).
- Collaborative Communication: Pragmatic, clear communicator who thrives in a high-velocity, autonomous team environment and builds trust through sound technical judgment.
Note: We're hiring across mid to senior levels for this role. The depth of your experience across the above areas will determine the scope and seniority of the position offered.
Beneficial Experience
- Direct experience leading an ECS-to-Kubernetes migration in a production environment.
- Deep knowledge of EKS ecosystem tooling (Karpenter, ArgoCD/Flux, KEDA, VPC CNI).
- Experience operating analytical or wide-column databases at scale (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB).
