DevOps Engineer

Confirmo is a global stablecoin-first payment platform trusted by market leaders. Originally founded in Prague in 2014, we run one of the most established crypto payment infrastructures in the industry. We aim to have DevOps people how they were meant to be: IaC, GitOps, Infrastructure, backend development, CI/CD, Observability … the same people can handle all this. OK let’s be fair, we’ve got quite many very experienced backend engineers and we’re a bit lacking at the Infrastructure side, but as a general concept, the first sentence holds :-). We’re building a FinTech platform that provides crypto-to-fiat and fiat-to-crypto payments to worldwide businesses. We’re building both monolithic and microservice-based applications, dealing with the history and the future of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the design & infrastructure at AWS. At the moment we’re operating both EC2 instances, ECS applications and K8s clusters. The known end-game is to migrate to K8s, you’d be part of that.

• Contribute to our CI/CD, GitOps and all other part of pipelines.

• Lead the evolution of our observability stack, at the moment we’re using Loki, Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog, Sentry … among others. Developers are responsible for handling the monitoring & alerting in our apps and features, but they need to have a reliable and easy-to-use toolset for that.

• Build AI bots that make our life easier - many things can be automated these days and we want to let the AI and machines do a lot of hard work, not people. The examples are: early diagnostics, support workflows, behavioral diagnostics, etc.

• Contribute to the backend development in Java & Typescript.

Your Profile:

• Has switched from hand-written to AI-first way of SW, configuration and any other type of digital delivery.

• Hasn’t lost control and deep understanding of what and how AI outputs should be applied to production infrastructure, pipelines, configuration management and all other aspects of reliable SW delivery.

• Excels with any public cloud infrastructure (ideally AWS).

• Has an advanced-user understanding of PostgreSQL or any other RDBMS, administrator knowledge is a plus.

• Has proven experience with Linux administration.

• Has real world experience with IaC configuration management solutions (we’re using mainly Terraform and on a smaller scale also Ansible at the moment).

• Demonstrates analytical thinking and a highly organised mind. We don’t have the capacity to micromanage, we need to rely on your abilities.

• Has strong ability to prioritise and choose your battles. Our technical debt needs to be deliberate and organised.

• Has willingness to be regularly giving (and receiving) constructive feedback. We are following the disagree & commit principle.

• Do not worry if you’ve got no prior crypto experience. It’s an insanely interesting, mind-bending domain to learn and master and you’ll have a lot of fun along the way.
