DevOps Engineer III
SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision, the DevOps Engineer III serves as a bridge between the development, security, infrastructure, and operations teams primarily in onboarding new technologies. This role uses a collaborative approach to identify and optimize the interdependencies between these teams, from an applications development, testing, and production perspective.

JOB DUTIES
- Builds and maintains the tooling and infrastructure used to automate the release and deployment and adapts existing procedures to reduce the occurrence of errors.
- Deploys updates and bug fixes while providing technical IT support independently.
- Develops and codes software that will integrate with back-end systems while mentoring junior engineers.
- Uses professional expertise to design processes for system troubleshooting and maintenance using Agile software development methods.
- Creates security & architectural diagrams, design specifications, and support documentation.
- Coordinates with Infrastructure and Security peers to establish and assign specific tasks required to meet project expectations.
- Works with Product Owners and Architects to identify infrastructure and security related activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Typically requires a bachelor's degree and five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Experience with tools such as ADO, Git, GHAS, SonarQube, LaunchDarkly, JFrog, GCP/GKE, ISPW PowerBI
- Developed technical knowledge and aptitude.
- Experience with DevOps principles.
- Ability to use Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience application security (OWASP Top 10), and DevSecOps.
- Experience with continuous code deployment, test-driven development, and release management. Experience with the overall software development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of cloud-based application integrations and software as a service implementation.
- Knowledge/experience working in a mainframe environment (experience with IBM z/OS a plus)
- Extensive experience with appropriate programming languages e.g. Java, Javascript, React and troubleshooting a wide range of IT issues, including unusual incidents.
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude, Codex, Gemini
