DevOps Engineer - DB Infrastructure

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll design, build and maintain our database infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, performance, backup and security compliance. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance our products and offerings. In your day-to-day, you will: 

• Design and implement infrastructure for our DB services and configuration management solutions 

• Quickly troubleshoot, identify and resolve infrastructure issues

• Take responsibility for the managed infrastructure’s security and collaborate with security teams to ensure the database platform compliance

• Automate solutions for recurring tasks and issues 

• Collaborate with DBAs, developers, infrastructure and production teams to advance our products and offerings 

• Provide support on the managed platforms and systems during office hours and in out-of-hours on-call rotation

• 3–5 years of experience in production environments

• Proficiency in Linux systems administration

• Hands-on expertise in scripting (Python, Bash) and configuration management/IaC tools like Terraform and Ansible 

• Familiarity with AWS or any cloud platforms (compute, storage, VPC, SG, IAM)  as well as workflow management tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins

• Security-by-design mindset, implements secure defaults/guardrails across the managed platforms

• Experience with infrastructure tools like Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with monitoring solutions like Grafana and Prometheus 

• Service-oriented mindset, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills

We are the Wix Database Platform team – a group of talented database and DevOps engineers dedicated to managing hundreds of MySQL, MongoDB, and ElasticSearch production database clusters, totaling petabytes of data on AWS Cloud platforms. Our teams work closely with systems engineers, DevOps and R&D developers to oversee all aspects of our database infrastructure and applications.
