LocationCrunchyroll is in a hybrid model, 3x per week in office. While preference for this role is San Francisco, we are also open to our Los Angeles office.
About the TeamAt Crunchyroll, our platforms and infrastructure form the foundation on which our services are built and directly influence our customer experience and velocity of our engineers. The Cloud Reliability team at Crunchyroll partners with our development teams and with our core platform teams to deliver the critical cloud infrastructure that enable our services.
About the RoleWe are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join Cloud Reliability. As part of the team, you will work closely with Crunchyroll’s service development teams on their platform and infrastructure needs with an emphasis on improving system stability, engineering efficiency, and creating mechanisms allowing for greater self-sufficiency. You will be a champion of operational excellence within these teams and be a vital contributor on various projects, reliability improvements, and contribute to platform enhancements that benefit your development partners. You will also work with other engineers within the Infrastructure team to improve our systems.
About you- 5+ years of experience in building and running high volume customer facing services in highly dynamic environments or working with its underlying infrastructure.
- BS Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experienced in automation and making reusable patterns and solutions.
- Excited about improving the reliability and performance of critical services through the use of monitoring, metrics, incident management, and proactive engineering.
- A learning mindset of continuous improvement.
- Able to participate in an on-call rotation to ensure issues are resolved as quickly as possible and prevented from further occurrence.
- Experienced in GitOps practices and technologies (CI/CD, containerization, Infrastructure as Code, etc).
- Proficient in at least one programming language (TypeScript preferred) with experience in a software engineering environment.
- 3+ years experience in AWS and its major services such as EC2, ECS, S3, SQS, EKS, Lambda.
- Able to work on tasks and projects independently and as part of a team with effective communication skills.
- You enjoy writing clear and concise documentation.
- Familiar with common observability tools including DataDog.
- Familiarity with Pulumi
