THE ROLE
As Indie Campers DevOps / Local IT Lead, you will own Level 1 support for our North America operations from the Mexico City hub, operate and improve our cloud and office infrastructure, and lead local incident and operations rhythms. You will serve as the pioneer of the local team lead for the MX tech pod (backend, frontend, QA/automation), coordinate with Corporate IT and SRE/Platform in Europe, and drive automation-first practices across monitoring, deployments, and support. As a pioneer role you will also be the go-to person to assist with any IT-related tasks to the office.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Run Level-1/2 support: onboarding/offboarding, laptops/MDM, SSO, Wi‑Fi/network, printers, meeting rooms, SaaS access in coordination with Corporate IT
- Operate and improve cloud infra (AWS/GCP): CI/CD, containerization (Docker, ECS/Kubernetes), IaC (Terraform), secrets, backups.
- Own observability: metrics/logs/tracing (CloudWatch/Prometheus/Grafana/OpenTelemetry), uptime checks, runbooks, on-call rotation.
- Triage incidents in NA time zones; drive post-mortems and preventative actions.
- Partner with Security on endpoint hygiene, patching, least-privilege, and asset inventory.
- Automate repetitive ops (n8n/Make, shell/Python); publish weekly health dashboards and reduce ticket volume.
- Serve as local tech lead: stand-ups, vendor coordination, office IT budget inputs, and MX site reliability cadence.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- 5+ years in DevOps/ITOps/SRE; experience running office IT in startup settings plus cloud workloads.
- Proficiency with AWS/GCP, Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions/GitLab), Terraform, Linux.
- Strong monitoring/alerting fundamentals; incident response and post-mortem culture.
- Solid scripting (Bash/Python); automation tools (n8n/Make/Zapier) a plus.
- Hands-on with MDM (Jamf, Intune), SSO (Okta/Google), and networking basics.
- xcellent English & Spanish; clear communicator, service mindset, bias to action.
