The Northrop Grumman CIDO Classified Solutions team is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Automation / DevOps Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of automated processes and infrastructure solutions. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site, full-time at our Melbourne, FL location.
Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance software development, lifecycle efficiencies, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and managing cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience with various automation tools and technologies, ensuring that the deployment and operational processes are streamlined and reliable. This position requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software build, test, and deployment processes.
Develop and manage infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to provision and manage cloud/On-Prem cloud resources.
Automate the deployment and configuration of virtual machines and containers using tools like Ansible and Docker.
Collaborate with software development teams to integrate automated testing and ensure code quality through continuous feedback.
Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability of applications in cloud environments.
Create and maintain custom automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Develop scripts and automation workflows for virtual test station deployment and configuration management.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for automated systems and processes.
Document automation processes, best practices, and operational guidelines for team knowledge sharing.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations in automation and DevOps practices.
Willingness to embrace change and work in a dynamic environment.
May require alternate work schedules shift work, EWW and potentially some weekend work.
Potential travel (10%) to support program activities and integration.

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Software, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or related field from an ABET accredited university with 5 years of related professional experience; Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience
Candidates must have a current US Government Secret security clearance (at a minimum), to include a closed investigation date completed within the last 5 years OR must be enrolled in the DOD Continuous Evaluation (CE) Program to be considered
Ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
Current US Government 8570 Level II certification, such as Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, or CYSA+ or have the ability to obtain prior to starting within reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) for automating system configurations.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to support project management.

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
