What you'll do
You’re joining a team that’s passionate about the customer vision and delivering a seamless onboarding experience for our customers. Aligned to our ‘Start and Manage my banking relationship’ customer goals, you’ll be working with your colleagues to deliver the technology strategic roadmap, while ensuring the right balance between our business goals and building future technology, at the right cost.
As a DevOps Cloud Platform Engineer, you’ll be leading the design and implementation of AWS based infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, containerised applications and observability solutions. You’ll drive the adoption of best practices for automation, scalability, and reliability while ensuring the platform is secure, highly available, and cost efficient.
You’ll also be:
- Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and Terraform
- Architecting and optimising containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes
- Defining and implementing observability solutions, including monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, and ELK Stack
- Leading the design and management of AWS networking
- Advising teams across platform and within the centre of excellence on which DevOps capability uplifts would be best suited to their needs and abilities
- Providing feedback that builds on policies, standards, practices and associated DevOps tooling
- Making sure decisions made are based on robust data, return on investment and value measures that demonstrate thoughtful and intelligent cost management
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with experience of portfolio management support roles paired with knowledge of portfolio types. You’ll have extensive hands-on experience with AWS, including EKS, ECS, Fargate, VPC, networking, and security best practices. We’re looking for expertise in CI/CD automation using GitLab and Terraform.
You’ll also demonstrate:
- Deep understanding of Docker and Kubernetes, with experience designing scalable, resilient, and automated containerised workloads, including blue/green deployment strategies
- Strong proficiency in monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, AWS CloudWatch, and Datadog
- Proven experience deploying and managing high-availability, business-critical systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and security
- Expertise in cloud networking concepts, including load balancing, VPC design, subnets, and security controls
- Experience of deploying business critical systems to production
- Knowledge and experience of portfolio management theories, models and practices within an Agile or DevOps environment
