Location (Onshore / Offshore) – Chicago, IL
Work location - Hybrid (3 days in Chicago Office)
If offshore, time zone overlaps: rqmts Central (9 AM – 5 PM)

Work to be performed
The Technical Lead reports directly to the Director of Data and Development Services and plays a pivotal role in driving the success of modernization projects, system implementations, and product deliveries. The ideal candidate is a highly adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments and demonstrates a proven ability to transition seamlessly between strategic planning and tactical execution. This individual will serve as a technical authority, mentor to development team, and liaison between technical and business stakeholders, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate daily Agile stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; manage development backlog; utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, bugs, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity; monitor resource utilization
- Prepare concise executive summaries that highlight project milestones, key accomplishments, and potential risks
- Actively monitor and manage project progress, ensuring timely delivery and addressing technical roadblocks proactively
- Adhere to best practices in coding standards, system architecture, and software development methodologies
- Provide technical guidance and oversight on firm-wide initiatives and projects; manage cross-functional dependencies
- Develop incremental plans to address technical debt during regular development cycles
- Act as a point of escalation for complex technical challenges
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in related field (Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Project Management) or equivalent work experience
- At least 7 years of experience in software development, with 2 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role
- Proven ability to coach teams on Agile principles and best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
- Proficient in various programming languages, frameworks, data integration and applications (e.g. .NET, Asana, Azure DevOps, RestAPI, SQL, Power BI, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to identify and mitigate project risks and issues in a timely manner
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and meticulous attention to detail
- Experience in managing defect tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps) and implementing processes for resolving issues
Preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data to drive strategic decision-making and support business objectives
- Knowledge of QA/QC standards and best practices
- Proficient in gathering and documenting business requirements
- Hands on knowledge of data governance frameworks
- At least 7 years of experience in software development, with 2 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role
