Job Description

As a Development Support Engineer, you will be essential to the successful operation and maintenance of our RIAK platform, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for our business-critical systems.

The RIAK team maintains the performance and availability of global-scale, business-critical production systems. This group leverages industry best practices and bespoke services to administer and operate production platforms, ensuring high standards of service for distributed systems.

This role involves collaborating with a group of delivery-focused experts to maintain the open-source RIAK datastore. You will tackle complex technical challenges, ensuring our infrastructure remains robust and reliable as we scale.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the company’s hybrid work from home policy.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience with Linux and Unix, including Bash, AWK, SED and grep.
  • Knowledge and experience of GNU utilities.
  • Ability to make and act on decisions under pressure.
  • Experience with distributed systems.
  • Detailed understanding of networking, including host and preferably media layers.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
