We’re looking for a Development Section Manager based out of our Dumbarton Manufacturing Facility.

What you’ll do:
Lead and manage the Development team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective build and validation outputs, ensuring on-time delivery through effective planning of labour capacity, workspace, and recruitment to meet project demands.
Drive departmental performance by monitoring KPIs such as productivity, efficiency, labour utilisation, 6S, and quality, while supporting accurate forecasting and tracking of labour hours and maintaining robust payroll and overtime reporting systems.
Oversee the preparation and execution of build and test plans, including procurement or hire of equipment, tooling, and instrumentation, and establish detailed, auditable test procedures and reporting standards to ensure reliable, repeatable results.
Foster a culture of safety and professional growth by conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, while managing team training, development, performance, and conflict resolution in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
SVQ Level 3 and/or HND in Electrical, Mechanical, or an equivalent engineering-related discipline.
IOSH certification (desirable).
Proven experience managing a multi-disciplined team in a technical environment.
Experience with quality management systems and HSE compliance.
Advanced technical problem-solving expertise in electrical and mechanical systems with experience of testing and maintenance of power generators desirable.
Computer literate with effective communication and administrative skills.
