The Development Scientist I for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible participating in a team to perform general laboratory testing, supporting tasks such as material inventory and laboratory maintenance. The Development Scientist I will work directly with a group of scientists doing a variety of tasks to develop and support fully-automated immunoassays on Beckman Coulter’s instruments.

This position is part of the Immunoassay R&D Department located in Chaska, MN and will be on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the R&D Team and report to the Manager of Development Science responsible for responsible for development of new immunoassays and reagents for fully-automated clinical diagnostic systems and supporting investigation and resolution of issues identified in fielded product. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Design experimental plans to evaluate study goals
• Perform experimental studies with fully-automated immunoassay
• Preparation of biological specimens
• Perform good documentation practices

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Experience working within Beckman Coulter in internship role
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biological Sciences or related discipline
• 0-2+ years of laboratory experience
• Candidates must have knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments
