Position Overview
The Manager, Development develops and implements the processes and structures needed as well as effectively manage a staff, work closely with the Development Director to engage in externally facing activities, and ensure the successful achievement of the following: Fundraising structure, strategy, donor management, corporate and foundation management, major gift donor management, fundraising events, etc.

Job Description

Supports donor stewardship in accordance with the City Year playbook.

Manages donor database including entering gifts, donor data, and meeting notes.

Analyzes donor data to create reports, dashboards, and tracking actions.

Identifies prospects and transfers the most promising prospects to the Corporate Director/Foundation Giving and Development Director.

Assemble donor/prospect files and work with Headquarters research department to compile donor/prospect profiles.

Research general philanthropic landscape and current events.

Supports on design and execution of events and leads event evaluation and reporting.

Supports Development Director to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of donors with the potential to contribute $10,000 or more.

Creates donor materials (1-pagers), power points, and other presentations.

Supports department with grant application process and deadlines and the preparation of reports for corporate and foundation donors/prospects.

Supports site's external digital and print publications, including social media and e-newsletters.

Manages certain programmatic logistics and external communications.

Acts as internal Development team communication point, coordinating schedules and deadlines to help to drive work forward.
