ResponsibilitiesDevelopment Managers start the journey with clients in becoming IBWS. DMs work with superintendents, district staff, principals, teachers, governing board members, and any school stakeholder learning about the IB, opening an application for candidacy, and starting the IB journey as an IB candidate school. In this way, DMs are instrumental in supporting schools and districts in making initial paradigm shifts, often transitioning from traditional to inquiry-based paradigms of teaching and learning and implementing new educational systems grounded in research-based best practices. DMs are highly knowledgeable about school and schooling, the IB, and how to support significant change processes.
- Current territory includes the United States
- Develop and deliver annual growth plan for the CP in the United States
- Develop action plans for approval by Head of Educational Initiatives & Partnership
- Work toward a target of outreach events, school/district supports and schools joining our network, therefore contribute to making a profound educational experience for students
- Initiate and nurture relationships with state elected and appointed authorities that fund and create policy for state-wide education initiatives related to the CP and CTE education
- Work with Community, Partnership and Development team to develop and deliver annual calendar of promotional activities for the Career related programme
- Work with Head of US Educational Initiatives and Partnerships to build annual budget based on standard or new ideas on how to tell the IB story and support schools wanting to become IB World Schools or districts looking to add CP programmes
- Serve as liaison with regional marketing and sub-regional CP&DHeads to maximize impact of marketing efforts
- Creates and presents content at professional conferences – This content includes promotional IB and thought leadership pieces as appropriate for each venue
About You
- Minimum advanced degree, doctorate preferred
- Significant experience with implementing and managing the Career-related programme
- Extensive experience supporting schools, leading targeted campaigns, doing outreach events, or sales/presentations
- Relevant experience creating multiple strategic initiatives to increase performance & growth
- Demonstrated ability to identify and assess market segments/needs for the CP and develop strategies to enhance service and revenue
- Demonstrated skills as a collaborator and team leader
- Demonstrated competency in being stakeholder focused
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Active involvement and knowledge regarding educational philosophies, pedagogy, professional development, research, policy and trends, particularly in the Career and Technical
