We are seeking a highly technical Development Manager to lead from the front, driving architectural decisions, coding standards, and technical excellence across our engineering teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the code, solves complex engineering challenges, and can inspire teams through technical depth rather than just people management. Hands-on experience in leading Generative AI team solutions will be a big plus.
Note: The candidate must be flexible to travel and work onsite in the UAE for 2–3 months as required by project or client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the technical authority across one or more development teams, providing deep hands-on guidance in software architecture, design, and implementation.
- Lead the development of scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions—jumping into code, troubleshooting, or prototyping as needed.
- Set and uphold engineering best practices, including coding standards, architecture guidelines, and DevOps maturity.
- Drive high-impact technical decisions and ensure alignment with long-term product and platform goals.
- Collaborate with engineers to break down complex problems, review designs and PRs, and help unblock issues quickly.
- Mentor and elevate developers through technical coaching, code reviews, and architectural walkthroughs.
- Explore and introduce emerging technologies especially in GenAI to improve product capabilities and engineering efficiency.
- Contribute to GenAI-related R&D initiatives and support implementation of LLMs, RAG workflows, or AI-driven features.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.
- 12+ years of hands-on software development experience, with a proven track record of technical leadership in leading development teams.
- Strong programming expertise in languages & cloud-native architectures.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and database designs.
- Skilled in CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and the confidence to make sound architectural decisions under pressure.
Nice to Have:
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, or related tools.
- Experience building AI-powered applications such as chatbots, copilots, or automated decision systems.
- Familiarity with vector databases, prompt engineering, and model fine-tuning workflows.
