The Development Manager (DM) is responsible for launching new Senior Living Communities for the Institutional Equivalent Special Needs Plan (IESNP) and developing a pipeline with local accounts for the IESNP product. Working with the Development Director, they will collaborate with business development, and Sales Account Managers to help drive new enrollments and support same store growth initiatives. Growth occurs through the successful management of ongoing business to business relationships.
The Development Manager is accountable for successful launches, relaunches, and new communities that result in new gross adds consistent with budgeted membership and ongoing enrollment.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Manage a launch process which begins 30 days prior to the go live date
  • Analyze assigned geography to identify, segment and prioritize all local Senior Living Communities
  • Conduct traditional business development activities to engage customers, to illustrate the value proposition and benefits of participation with Optum/UnitedHealthcare
  • Standardized launch and relaunch plan, which includes including timeframes and milestones for a community
  • Influence without authority, ensuring that market leadership members deliver on their commitments in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrate the value of the Senior Living product to key members of the communities through the Optum 101
  • Enroll as needed
  • Document all activities
  • Communicate identified barriers and develop and implement remediation plans
  • Meet or exceed national launch metrics
  • Educate key Senior Living personnel on the value proposition, compliant lead generation practices, and best practices
  • Manage events, activities and all communication a minimum of 30 prior to the launch and 30-day post launch
  • Serve as subject matter expert for market(s)
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Identify and research potential clients
  • Lead the site launch meeting, including the preparation of materials, tracking in the CRM tool (salesforce.com) and documentation of risks and remediation plans
  • Complete or coordinate all activities and milestones in the standardized implementation model, and execute attestations as required
  • Utilize Medicare Marketing Guidelines and internal communication pieces to educate Senior Living Community personnel on compliant sales and marketing practices
  • Provide customer support to Senior Living Community personnel during the launch process
  • Communicate risks and potential threats to the Client Development Director, Business Development, Director of Sales, and Market Leader as appropriate
  • Contribute to market lead generation, gross adds, and account management as requested or assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in project management or sales management, preferably in a health care environment
  • Experience in utilizing a CRM (salesforce.com, Siebel, etc.)
  • Technical Skills:
    • Intermediate user level in Microsoft Word & PowerPoint
    • Presentation skills

    • Must have, or be able to obtain, appropriate state licensure within 90 days of hire date

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 - $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
