As a Dev Manager in the Product Operating Model (POM), your focus is on building and enabling high-performing engineering teams that deliver high-quality, secure, and performant solutions. You are accountable for team leadership, delivery execution, and alignment with product objectives. You hire, mentor, and guide Data Engineers, ensuring  engineering best practices are followed, and act as the critical connector between Product Managers, Architects, and Developers.

In this role you will get to:

1. Team Leadership & Development

  • Hire, mentor, and coach Data Engineers to grow skills and careers

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Allocate team members effectively across initiatives to maximize delivery capacity
     

2. Delivery & Execution Management

  • Oversee timelines, deliverables, and commitments to ensure on-time completion

  • Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

  • Identify and remove blockers, escalating issues where needed to maintain flow
     

3. Collaboration & Alignment

  • Act as the key bridge between Product and Engineering teams, ensuring clear communication of priorities, requirements, and constraints

  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to balance business outcomes with technical feasibility

  • Partner with Architects and Engineering Leads to ensure alignment on design, standards, and long-term maintainability
     

4. Quality, Security & Performance

  • Ensure solutions meet defined quality, security, and performance standards as established by architecture teams

  • Champion engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and code reviews

  • Promote a culture of building reliable, scalable, and secure systems
     

5. Continuous Improvement & Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to improve team velocity, predictability, and morale

  • Support adoption of the Product Operating Model practices, including persistent teams and quarterly outcome alignment

  • Partner with enablement and ops teams on tooling, metrics, and automation to enhance delivery

Who you are:

  • You are the team enabler and execution driver, ensuring engineering teams are set up for success, supported in their growth, and delivering against business outcomes

  • You bridge product priorities with technical execution, ensuring clarity, alignment, and flow between Product Managers, Architects, and Developers

  • You are also a guardian of quality and standards, making sure delivery is not only timely but also secure, performant, and sustainable

  • A pragmatic and solutions-oriented team leader with experience managing Data Engineering teams

  • Skilled in Agile development and confident facilitating team ceremonies

  • Have experience leading design reviews, and technical decision-making

  • Experience in SQL,Python, Spark, Big Data Technologies including Data warehousing, Data ingestion, Data lake

  • Cloud experience is required, preferably on GCP.

  • Familiarity with the following technologies is a plus: Kafka, BigQuery, BigTable, DataProc, GCS,, DataFlow, composer orchestration

  • Passionate about building strong, accountable teams and enabling engineers to do their best work

  • Able to balance technical excellence with delivery pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable using data to inform decisions and improve team performance

  • Strong cross-functional collaborator with clear communication and follow-through

Flexible work at Priceline

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
