Development Lead

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Development Lead in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle, including system design, development, testing, and project go-live on various GenAI projects.

• Manage and oversee the deployment of highly scalable Java Spring Boot and Python-based applications in a Red Hat OpenShift/AWS containerized environment to automate data extraction, transformation, and delivery processes of several GenAI use cases.

• Spearhead cross-functional team collaboration, facilitating seamless integration of internal and external data sources into database environments while ensuring adherence to stringent compliance and scalability requirements.

• Plan, lead, and conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with stakeholders, ensuring thorough validation of business requirements.

• Remediate technical debt, manage public cloud migrations using AWS or Azure services.

• Train offshore and onshore developers, conducting daily scrum meetings, and managing project release cycles to ensure successful production launches.

• May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $131,997 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $145,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
