Position Summary
It’s our job to expand, improve and maintain the transportation management product at e2open. Product management drives the roadmap which contains a mix of strategic, compliance, technical and customer driven features. We provide technical answers to the functional requirements in an Agile development process. The postholder will be responsible for the maintenance and development of existing solutions, and for the analysis and development of new solutions to meet business requirements based on the TMS for Freight Forwarder (TMS-FF) product. The role directs product development and other important business initiatives. Development lead/manager schedule and delegate tasks, often serving as a point of contact with many people, including customers and executives. In addition, development managers help manage expectations to ensure everyone understands their roles, responsibilities, and the overall goals of the project. He / She also analyses business opportunities, research the industry trends, creates proposals and train new staff, depending on their job and the organization where they work.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, managing various cross-team internal programs across product, such as brownbag sessions, skill enhancement programs, technical and functional product level onboarding charter/trainings etc.
- Responsible for architecting and implementing various functional modules in an enterprise product.
- Managing capacity planning and resource adjustments for product teams.
- Working closely with the recruiting function to manage the hiring process.
- Driving, Tracking and Status reporting of cross-team projects/dependencies during compatibility, integration, PSG/Customer implementation phases etc.
- Defining and executing the necessary engineering audits – Security Compliance, Best Practices, Violations etc.
- Summarize and present the status / progress, gains and losses w.r.t these activities.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards for release progress, productivity metrics
- Working collaboratively within a team of BA, DEV, QA Managers and have strong influencing and leadership skills.
- Being the communication evangelist for the special projects/tasks and providing key information to managers, leads and individual contributors
- Abreast of latest technologies & tools and ability to evaluate and select appropriate tools and technologies as per the requirements.
- Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation.
Experience
- 8+ years of Java technology (Full stack)
Skillset required (Mandatory)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others.
- Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and tracking
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality.
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles.
- This position requires an individual to be full of energy, creative, team-oriented, product development savvy, drive to produce results and demonstrates the ability to take a cross-team leadership role.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – Briefing and Detailing
- Good programming and debugging skills.
- Good experience in Java full stack and SQL
- Knowledge in security and performance engineering
- Knowledge of product integrations like web services (REST/SOAP)
- Knowledge of repository DevOps and other tools such as Bitbucket or GitHub.
- Good understanding of UI frameworks like Vaadin.
Desired skills
- Experience in domain of Supply chain execution
- Knowledge of Oracle database and PL/SQL
- Knowledge of security and performance engineering
- Knowledge of Apache web server
- Good understanding of agile product development methodology
- Basic Linux experience.
