B17 Entertainment was founded in 2013 by principals and TV veterans Rhett Bachner and Brien Meagher as a full-service production company producing breakthrough content in a variety of genres, including reality competition, comedy, kids, and games. Based in Los Angeles, the company is a key supplier of programming for Netflix, Roku, ABC, NBC, FOX, and History Channel, to name a few. Some of B17 Entertainment’s recent productions include Extracted for FOX, Blue Ribbon Baking Championship for Netflix, Emmy award-winning Book of Queer for Discovery+, The Final Straw for ABC, Jojo Goes with JoJo Siwa, and Thanks A Million with Jennifer Lopez for Roku.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:
B17 Entertainment is a full-service production company based in Los Angeles, California, producing breakthrough content in a variety of genres, including cooking shows, game shows, dating shows, and social experiments. As leaders in a new era of content creation, our focus is on multi-platform programming with millennial and Gen Z appeal. B17 Development department is looking for a summer intern to help support the development of new and existing ideas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The intern will be responsible for helping research, writing copy for sales decks, pulling images and footage for decks and sizzle reels, and ideally helping edit string outs. The intern will also be encouraged to bring in new ideas, contribute in group brainstorms, and keep the company apprised of what’s trending across various social media. May have the chance to go on set and assist on shoots, when available.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- College students who are currently enrolled and interested in a career in unscripted television/content
- Writing experience
- Strong researcher
- Comfortable with Canva and Photoshop
- Self-starter eager to bring ideas to the table
- A watcher and enjoyer of unscripted content
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ability to pull footage and edit string-outs would help if possible
- Knowledge of current and past unscripted shows a plus
The anticipated base salary for this position is $19/hour. This role may also qualify for comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
