The Application Engineer, SAP role is all about collaboration. You will be a key part of the ERP and Business Systems team, responsible for participating in SAP solutions from design to handover. Working closely with stakeholders, the internal technology teams, and vendors, you will co-create solutions that will evolve our current system landscape. Meet Your Future Team:
The ERP and Corporate Business Applications department comprises a team of technical professionals and subject matter experts who know and understand the tools we use to support the business. We strategically define business cases, prioritize projects, and deliver ERP and Commercial projects, ensuring that dependencies are mapped out and sequenced to provide the overall technology roadmap. Together, we host, manage, and improve a range of technical tools for all aspects of design, business, finance, logistics, global sales, and many other heroes within the organization.
We seek a highly motivated and skilled SAP Development and Integration Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be a key player in designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions using the latest SAP technologies, including SAP BTP, S/4HANA, and SAP Fiori. You'll have the opportunity to impact our organization by creating and integrating solutions that streamline processes, improve efficiency, and drive growth.
If you were in the Application Engineer, SAP role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Spearheading the development, maintenance, and optimizing applications and services leveraging the RAP and CAP models in SAP BTP
- Translating functional requirements into robust technical designs for efficient and scalable solutions
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation and integration of your creations within the SAP landscape
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex technical challenges with a keen eye for detail
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to empower your team and stakeholders to utilize RAP and CAP effectively
- Developing and enhancing ABAP programs, objects, gateway services, and interfaces within the S/4HANA environment
- Utilizing ABAP Workbench, Web IDE, and HANA Studio/Eclipse to build custom and extend standard Fiori apps (SAPUI5) and their backend OData services
- Leveraging cutting-edge S/4HANA technologies to create and extend CDS views and AMDPs
- Ensuring compliance with security standards, including OAuth 2.0 and SAML
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Migrating SAP PI/PO to BTP Integration Suite with an API-first mindset
- Enhancing existing SAP processes with new features and functionality e.g. Low-Code/No-Code Options
- Designing and building ABAP programs, enhancements, ABAP objects, gateway services, and interfaces in SAP and testing
- Leading large, highly visible, impactful projects enabling the company to innovate, grow, and evolve
Are you our next Application Engineer, SAP?
- You have a relevant university degree or technical diploma and at least five years of related experience in SAP Development and Integration, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA, SAP PI/PO, and SAP BTP. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered
- You have expertise in cloud-based development and familiarity with the breadth of SAP BTP offerings
- You are proficient in the ABAP RAP and Cloud Application Programming (CAP) models for building efficient, scalable, and maintainable applications and services
- You have knowledge of RESTful APIs, OData Services, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, and data modeling with CDS views
- You have experience in testing methodologies and tools for integration scenarios, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing
- You have a solid understanding of the SAP landscape, modules, terminology, and methodologies
- You have excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and convey complex technical information
- You have a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and adapt to changing priorities and ambiguous situations
- You have a passion for continuous improvement and a commitment to embracing agile methodologies
- You have some experience or exposure to SAP Cloud Integration Suite
