Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive, highly organized and externally focused Development Coordinator to support fundraising and volunteer initiatives across Youth Villages New England. This is a primarily in-person, hands-on role tasked with supporting the execution of events, coordinating external relationships, managing project components and assisting with donor engagement, including support for a growing major gifts strategy.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys both logistics and relationship-building, and is eager to deepen their experience in nonprofit fundraising while making a meaningful impact on the lives of youth and families across the Northeast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Coordinator:

Project Management and Initiative Support

  • Serves as a strong project manager supporting all fundraising projects and key communications deliverables, ensuring timelines and deliverables stay on track

  • Supports Development Manager in maintaining timelines, priorities, and cross-functional coordination

  • Identifies and communicates logistical needs or challenges to ensure smooth execution

  • Supports key initiatives such as Backpack Heroes and Holiday Heroes

Donor, Volunteer and External Relationship Support

  • Serves as a professional, externally facing representative of the organization

  • Supports relationship-building with donors, corporate partners, and community participants

  • Assists with donor engagement through events, communications, and stewardship touchpoints

  • Helps identify and surface potential new donors through engagement activities

  • Provides strong customer service and responsiveness in all interactions

Major Gifts Strategy Support

  • Supports coordination for a new and growing major gifts strategy

  • Tracks donor engagement activity in CRM in alignment with team strategy

  • Assists with cultivation and stewardship touchpoints for major donors

Hands-On Event Support

  • Attends and supports fundraising events with a high-level of professionalism while fostering meaningful donor engagement

  • Provides on-site support including setup, registration, donor interaction, volunteer coordination, and breakdown

  • Helps ensure a high-quality, engaging experience for donors, partners, and volunteers

Administrative and CRM Coordination

  • Assists with administrative tasks including meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up tracking

  • Supports CRM data entry and maintenance in alignment with established standards

  • Ensures accuracy in donor, volunteer, and engagement records

  • Coordinates with CRM/operations staff to support data integrity and reporting needs

  • Provides administrative and coordination support for ongoing strategic projects, including tracking deliverables, preparing materials, and supporting cross-functional collaboration

  • Available to attend evening and weekend events

  • Comfortable with an in-person work setting with limited hybrid flexibility

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional, polished demeanor with strong interpersonal skills

Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000 per year based on education and experience

Qualifications:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience (required)

  • 1-3 years of fundraising experience (preferred)

  • Experience using Salesforce (required)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (required)

  • Experience using OneCause (preferred)

  • Experience supporting events, volunteers, or customer-facing work (preferred)
