Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive, highly organized Development Coordinator to support fundraising, donor engagement, and volunteer initiatives across Youth Villages Oregon.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role responsible for supporting the execution of fundraising events, coordinating external relationships, managing key project components, and ensuring strong donor stewardship and engagement. The Development Coordinator will also support internal systems and processes that drive fundraising success, including CRM management and donor communications.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing logistics and relationship-building, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is eager to deepen their experience in nonprofit fundraising, while making a meaningful impact on youth and families across Oregon.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Development Coordinator:
Project Management and Initiative Support
Serves as a strong project coordinator supporting fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and events, ensuring timelines and deliverables remain on track
Supports Development Manager and Director of Development in coordinating priorities, tracking deliverables, and managing cross-functional collaboration
Assists in planning and executing an annual fundraising and events calendar aligned with regional goals
Supports key initiatives such as in-kind giving drives, employee giving campaigns, and other strategic fundraising efforts
Identifies and communicates logistical needs or challenges to ensure smooth execution
Donor, Volunteer and External Relationship Support
Serves as a professional, externally facing representative of Youth Villages
Builds and supports relationships with donors, corporate partners, volunteers, and community stakeholders
Responds to donor and volunteer inquiries and provides excellent customer service in all interactions
Assists with donor engagement through events, communications, and stewardship touchpoints
Supports volunteer coordination and engagement across fundraising activities
Helps identify and surface new donor and partner opportunities through community engagement
Hands-On Event Support
Supports planning and execution of fundraising events, including signature and community-based events
Provides on-site support, including setup, registration, donor interaction, volunteer coordination, and event breakdown
Helps ensure a high-quality, engaging experience for donors, partners, and volunteers
Collaborates with internal teams on event logistics, marketing, and communications
Administrative and CRM Coordination
Supports donor stewardship processes including prompt acknowledgements and gift processing, and pledge reminders
Maintains accurate donor and volunteer records in Salesforce, ensuring high data integrity and adherence to standards
Utilizes CRM tools to generate reports, donor lists, and engagement tracking
Partners with Finance and national Donor Services teams to support reconciliation and reporting needs
Provides administrative support including meeting preparation, note-taking, and follow-up tracking
Assists with Board-related activities, including meeting coordination and stewardship support
Serves as a liaison between development and program teams for volunteer and in-kind engagement

Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience (required)
1-3 years of fundraising, event coordination, or related experience (preferred)
Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM (required)

Experience supporting events, volunteers, or customer-facing work (preferred)
