Purpose of the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated Development Analyst to join our Development team in Toronto. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. This role involves supporting development projects through financial modeling, coordination, reporting, and analysis to drive informed investment and development decisions.
This is an on-site role, located in our Toronto office.
Core Responsibilities:- Conduct financial analysis to support investment and development decisions.
- Review and analyze detailed cash flow modelling and development pro-formas.
- Prepare correspondence, reports, memos, presentations and other project-related documents.
- Prepare and update dashboards, trackers, and slide decks for portfolio reporting.
- Support the Development team in the administration and coordination of current NRE projects.
- Organize and coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and distribute to stakeholders.
- Support due diligence efforts related to acquisitions, dispositions, and financing activities.
- Liaise with consultants, community members and project stakeholders.
- Assist in reviewing and summarizing project-specific contracts and agreements.
- Maintain project documentation, including drawings, budgets, schedules, proposals and contracts.
- Engage in ongoing learning and professional development to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
- 1–3 years of experience in a related role, with a strong interest in commercial real estate development.
- Background in finance, real estate, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma preferred.
- Knowledge of development processes, construction financing, and municipal approvals is an asset.
- Some travel is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- You have strong investment financial analysis skills, with the ability to calculate and interpret real estate returns (ie IRRs, levered/unlevered returns).
- You are proficient in creating, updating, and managing financial models, with the ability to communicate findings clearly.
- You are highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical thinker with keen attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, even under pressure.
- Excellent communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
- Skilled at managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines efficiently.
This position comes with a base salary range of $70,000 - $90,000 plus a competitive performance bonus, RRSP contribution and participation in our profit-sharing program. Base salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
