Pay, Schedule, & Benefits:
- The anticipated starting pay range is $62,000 - $65,000. This compensation range considers a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experiences, as well as internal equity.
- This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday during regular business hours. Approximately 25% expenses-paid domestic travel is required.

What You’ll Do:
- Meaningfully engage with current and prospective donors. Make 20+ daily contacts through phone, email, handwritten notes and face-to-face meetings. Foster and strengthen relationships, and inspire donors to become invested in feeding kids by sharing the impact of FMSC’s food. Solicit donations, connect donors’ philanthropic interests with FMSC funding opportunities, express thanks, and offer prayer.
- Record personal donor touchpoints and accurate donor/prospect information in database.
- Analyze portfolio, identify top-tier donors, and set strategy and goals to optimize engagement and increase giving.
- Creatively integrate FMSC marketing and communication pieces into strategic donor touchpoints, e.g. annual report, holiday cards, etc.
- Share donor relations successes and best practices with peers.
- Communicate and collaborate with site manufacturing personnel on fundraising efforts.
- Recruit and manage department administrative volunteer(s).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications:
- Commitment to support, promote, and authentically communicate FMSC’s Christian mission and goals.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in related field and 2 years of development or sales experience required. In lieu of degree, relevant work experienced will be considered
- Experience meeting sales/fundraising goals, increasing prospect/donor engagement, and making the “ask” and “close” with donors/prospects is required. Experience using effective interpersonal and customer service skills to build strong donor/customer relationships is required, including in-person and phone interactions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Experience with donor/sales databases preferred.
- Engaging storyteller. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Adept in public speaking.
- Self-directed with high level of energy, self-motivation and independence with limited direct supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of detail, accuracy and follow-through.
Your Team:
- Work location is Aurora, IL. Position will have flexible/hybrid work schedule that allows for both office and remote work.
- Reports to Development Manager.
