About this opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled Developer to engineer, deploy, and maintain the Foreman-based provisioning service adapted for Ericsson internal environments. The role focuses on building reliable and repeatable server provisioning workflows, controlling package repositories, enabling secure access via Ericsson identity systems, and supporting onboarding of internal organizations.
What You'll Do:
- Deploy, configure, and operate Foreman service instances in Ericsson environments.
- Build and maintain provisioning templates, hostgroups, and installation workflows to ensure repeatable builds.
- Manage package repositories and update intake control to ensure predictable installations over time.
- Integrate and maintain access control via Active Directory and Role Based Access Control.
- Support onboarding of internal organizations (Foreman "Organization" objects) and role mapping in collaboration with Engineering Support teams.
- Troubleshoot provisioning failures, access issues, repo sync problems, and service stability concerns.
- Contribute to documentation, operational runbooks, and continuous improvement of the service.
The skills you bring:
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux server provisioning and OS lifecycle management.
- Working experience with Foreman (preferred) or similar provisioning tools (e.g., Satellite / Cobbler / Puppet-based setups).
- Solid understanding of PXE/Kickstart (or equivalent), template-driven provisioning, and automation.
- Experience managing package repositories and controlling update rollout.
- Familiarity with Role Based Access Control, Active Directory, and enterprise identity integrations
- Security-first mindset and experience working in governed enterprise environments (access controls, approvals, compliance)
Good-to-Have / Can Be Learned On the Job
- Deep familiarity with documentation standards and tooling integrations.
- Experience with Puppet/Ansible integrations in the Foreman ecosystem
