As a Developer in Test II at Expeditors, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our cloud-native solutions. The Model, Map, and Enable, IS Operational Experience team is looking for strong candidates who want to help design and expand a library of automation tools and frameworks. You will be responsible for shaping the direction and quality of our unique data pipeline solutions and the frameworks utilized to test them. This role requires a deep understanding of testing methodologies and a passion for creating robust, maintainable test suites. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, collaborative team player, and problem solver.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, Cucumber to ensure the stability and functionality of our web applications.
Framework Development: Create and evolve testing frameworks from scratch, incorporating best practices and ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Test Strategy: Collaborate with the QA team and developers to define the overall testing strategy, test plans, and test cases.
Defect Management: Identify, report, and track software defects, working closely with the development team to facilitate timely resolution.
Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize software performance.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and best practices.
This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent job related experience.
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills.
- Working knowledge of Java application development and Windows/UNIX/Linux systems.
- Must be good in scripting languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript/Python/Pytest.
- Experience in Agile & DevOps methodologies.
- Understanding of the transportation/global logistics industry.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an automation engineer, with a strong track record of test automation and framework development.
- Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Playwright, Cypress, or Cucumber.
- Good to have knowledge in microservices, serverless, GraphQL, OpenAPI, or Swagger.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Expected base salary: $100,000 to $140,000
May be eligible for bonus following first year of continuous employment in position.
