Job Description
SUMMARY
The Enterprise Core Platform (ECP) is the Platform side manifestation of Expeditors’ new Platform/Tenant Architecture. Cloud-native systems are designed to thrive in a dynamic, virtualized cloud environment, these systems make extensive use of Platform as a Service (PaaS) compute infrastructure and managed services. This role will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for designing and implementing test automation frameworks, writing automated tests, and conducting thorough API testing. This role requires a deep understanding of testing methodologies and a passion for creating robust, maintainable test suites. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, collaborative team player, and problem solver.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Automation Testing: Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, Cucumber to ensure the stability and functionality of our web applications.
API Testing: Design, implement, and execute API tests to validate data integrity, performance, and reliability.
Framework Development: Create and evolve testing frameworks from scratch, incorporating best practices and ensuring scalability and maintainability.
Test Strategy: Collaborate with the QA team and developers to define the overall testing strategy, test plans, and test cases.
Defect Management: Identify, report, and track software defects, working closely with the development team to facilitate timely resolution.
Performance Testing: Conduct performance and load testing to identify bottlenecks and optimize software performance.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results.
Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the SDET team, sharing knowledge and best practices.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent job related experience
- Strong object-oriented design and coding skills
- Working knowledge of Java application development and Windows/UNIX/Linux systems
- Must be good in scripting languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript
- Experience in Agile & DevOps methodologies
- Understanding of the transportation/global logistics industry
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience as an SDET or automation engineer, with a strong track record of test automation and framework development.
- Proficiency in automation testing tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress, Cucumber.
- Solid understanding of API testing tools and techniques.
- Experience in tools like OWASP ZAP, Nmap, or Burp Suite to perform security testing and penetration testing on the API.
- Good to have knowledge in microservices, serverless, GraphQL, OpenAPI, or Swagger.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISTQB, Selenium WebDriver) a plus.
