Job Overview
We are seeking a Developer Relations Engineer with a strong gaming industry background to help expand and strengthen Arm's developer ecosystem in China. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience developing games, building real-time graphics systems, or directly supporting game studios, and who is passionate about enabling developers on modern graphics and AI technologies.
In this role, you will work at the intersection of game engines, graphics/AI technologies, and developer ecosystems, acting as the technical bridge between Arm's cutting-edge platforms and game developers across China. You will collaborate closely with game studios, engine teams, and internal engineering groups to drive adoption, optimize performance, and deliver an outstanding developer experience.
Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical voice of game developers by gathering real-world feedback from game studios, technical artists, and engine teams, and translating those insights into actionable requirements for product, platform, tooling, and support teams.
  • Work directly with game companies and game development teams to support evaluation, integration, and optimization of Arm technologies in real production environments, with a strong focus on mobile and real-time graphics workloads.
  • Provide hands-on technical support to partners by reproducing game-side issues, debugging engine-level issues, and co-developing solutions together with developers.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to drive issue investigation and resolution, ensuring clear ownership, tracking, communication, and closure of partner-reported issues.
  • Leverage strong game engine expertise (Unity or Unreal) to analyze rendering pipelines, performance bottlenecks, and engine architecture, and provide optimization guidance tailored to Arm platforms.
  • Conduct technical investigations on advanced graphics and AI techniques used in games.
  • Create and maintain high-quality developer-facing materials, including tutorials, engine optimization guides, performance playbooks, sample projects, and technical documentation for game developers.
  • Support Arm's developer programs and ecosystem activities through game-focused demos, workshops, webinars, and technical talks, tailored specifically for game studios and engine developers in China.

Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong background in the gaming industry, with hands-on experience as a game developer, graphics engineer, engine programmer, or in a role directly supporting game studios.
  • Solid understanding of game development workflows, including collaboration between engineering, technical art, and content teams.
  • Deep familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine, including engine architecture, rendering pipelines, and tooling; engine-level optimization experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience or background as a Technical Artist (TA), or close collaboration with TA teams, with knowledge of shaders, materials, rendering features, and performance constraints.
  • Familiarity with modern GPU architectures and graphics APIs (e.g., Vulkan, DirectX), with practical experience in performance analysis and optimization.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively across cross-functional and cross-company teams.
  • Self-driven, comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple partners and evolving priorities.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

"Nice to Have" Expertise and Proficiency
  • Experience working inside a game studio or in a role that directly supports game developers (e.g., engine support, graphics tools, platform enablement).
  • Hands-on experience with engine customization or low-level engine optimization, especially for mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with Arm CPU/GPU architecture and mobile SoC constraints.
  • Experience with AI techniques applied to games or real-time graphics, including AI-assisted rendering, upscaling, or content pipelines.
  • Prior experience in developer relations, partner engineering, or technical evangelism roles within the game industry.

In Return
  • You will work alongside exceptionally talented engineers, game developers, and ecosystem partners, contributing directly to shaping the future of gaming on Arm platforms in China.
  • You will have the opportunity to influence real-world game productions, engine optimizations, and developer workflows at scale.
  • You will be part of an inclusive, collaborative, and innovation-driven culture where your technical impact is visible and valued.
