Developer - Integrations & AI

Position Summary

The Developer - Integrations & AI role builds and maintains the connections between Bluum’s business systems, outside platforms, and the organization’s AI services. Working alongside senior developers, technical leads, and outside development partners, you will help build the APIs, scripts, and web application code that move data between internal applications and approved AI tools, and extend customizations in Bluum’s core business platforms. You will contribute to AI-enabled features, working from established patterns rather than building the underlying framework, while gaining hands-on experience with applied AI integration.

Responsibilities  

•  Develop and maintain web application, integration, and automation code using JavaScript, Python, and PHP, including the scripts and services that support AI-enabled features and data preparation.
•  Build and maintain integrations that connect internal systems to outside resources, including partner and vendor platforms, third-party APIs, and hosted services.
• Serve as a technical point of contact for outside development resources, vendors, and partners, coordinating requirements, reviewing delivered work, and supporting handoff into internal systems.
•  Integrate business applications with the organization’s internal AI services and approved AI tools, working from established patterns rather than building the underlying framework.
• Support and extend customizations, workflows, and configurations within the organization’s core business platforms.
• Collaborate with technical leads, Business Intelligence, and business users to gather requirements and translate them into working solutions.
• Participate in testing, debugging, and documentation of integrations, customizations, and AI-enabled features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to business applications, workflows, integrations, and connected services.
•  Follow established version control and change control practices, and contribute to documentation of processes, code, and user guides.
•  Perform other support and development-related tasks as assigned.
•  Stay up to date with current development languages, integration patterns, and emerging technology practices through training and mentorship. 

Education & Skill Requirements

•  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; relevant coursework or equivalent practical experience accepted.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and related web technologies, and of Python for scripting, automation, and integration work; experience with PHP is also applicable.
• Familiarity with web development concepts such as HTML, CSS, JSON, and client/server architecture, with experience working with REST APIs and third-party services.
•  Exposure to AI or LLM-enabled application development, such as calling model APIs, working with prompts, or consuming an internal AI service.
• Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git).
• Exposure to customizing or extending enterprise business platforms, such as Oracle NetSuite, is a plus but not required, as is basic familiarity with SQL or relational database concepts.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•  Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with technical and non-technical team members, including outside vendors and partners.
•  Eagerness to learn new technologies and take on technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

•  It will be necessary to participate in upgrading courses from time to time to keep abreast of changing policy, technology, and growth.
