WEB DEVELOPER II
JOB SUMMARY
Designs and develops Isuzu’s suite of web properties related to IGSS sales and service. Collaborates with team members to design features, review code, and resolve problems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Front-end development: Creates and maintains testable user-friendly web interfaces using a modern toolset that includes React and Angular. Ensures cross-browser compatibility, automated tests and mobile responsiveness.
- Back-end development: Develops and maintains server-side logic using PHP (Laravel). Designs and implements RESTful APIs and services and ensures features have thorough test coverage.
- Code Review and Testing: Conducts code reviews to maintain high code quality and adherence to best practices. Implements and maintains automated testing frameworks and performs manual testing when needed.
- DevOps: Assists with cloud infrastructure and deployment processes using tools like Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes. Oversees automated deployment pipelines and ensures adherence to CI/CD practices.
- System Architecture: Collaborates with team members to design scalable and maintainable system architectures. Aligns application architecture with business goals and requirements.
- Database Development: Designs, develops, and optimizes database schemas using MySQL. Ensures data integrity, security, and performance.
- Document and Knowledge Sharing: Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for code, APIs, and system designs. Mentors junior developers and shares knowledge through code reviews and pair programming.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Manager, Web Development
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or software engineering preferred or equivalent work-related experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience shipping production code to a cloud-based platform
- Experience working in both back-end and front-end environments
- Minimum 3 years of production-level experience with PHP, particularly using the Laravel framework
- Minimum 3 years of production-level experience with JavaScript, particularly using the React framework
- Experience with local testing in Docker
- Some experience with CI/CD DevOps (Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes) recommended
KNOWLEDGE
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (such as MySQL) and NoSQL databases (such as Mongo).
- Thorough working knowledge of Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Excellent working knowledge of software development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Docker)
- Working knowledge of infrastructure in a cloud platform like Azure, AWS or GCP
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Thorough ability to work as part of a team; must be able to complete tasks independently
- Strong analytical skills with the desire to find the root of a problem before attempting to solve it
- Methodical and thorough abilities to ensure that all code written is thoroughly tested before being shipped
- Ability to context switch from back-end to front-end and handle multiple projects at one time
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
PHYSICAL STANDARDS
This is primarily a sedentary position in a remote or controlled office environment which requires occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of office files, reports, or records. Rare instances requiring lifting of light objects (5 to 25 lbs.)
PAY SCALE
The pay scale for this position is between $80,361 and $100,451. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

Skills Required
