Pay: 19/HR

Location: Libertyville IL

Shift: 10/HR Shift Weekly on Thursdays

Part-Time: Bi-weekly (Every two weeks on Thursday a load is sent to Covanta Indy). If load is suspended while in transport, the shift will become an overnight shift until designated load is delivered.

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, a Destruction Witness Associate is primarily responsible for overseeing the secure transportation and incineration of DEA-regulated materials, ensuring adherence to disposal protocols and regulatory requirements. This role demands meticulous observation and procedural adherence to safeguard the proper disposal of regulated materials, contributing to both environmental and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cargo Transportation Security experience
  • Security Guard experience
  • Patrol Highway experience
  • Police or Military experience

Primary Duties:

  • Collects transportation to ensure vehicle readiness a day prior to scheduled destruction run
  • Prepares for witnessing procedure by obtaining necessary materials and PPE
  • Participates, in an observational capacity, the loading of DEA-regulated materials into truck and complete any necessary paperwork
  • Coordinates trip details with truck driver, including route information, contact details, and any additional updates
  • Drives to destruction facility, following loaded truck and maintaining visual contact at all times
  • Checks in and out of destruction facility and notifies supervisor of arrival and departure statuses
  • Documents and observes the destruction of materials by witnessing and capturing images of the breaking of the seal and incineration processes
  • Submits all paperwork, documentation, and trip materials to supervisor after completion of the destruction trip
  • Follows all safety and security protocols and reports any health or safety concerns in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High School diploma or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the responsibilities of this position
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Ability to drive a passenger vehicle for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures
  • Ability to follow operating and safety procedures

  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and last-minute adjustments
