Dispatch & Warehouse Supervisor – Chemicals & Logistics | Luton, UK
We are looking for a hands-on, dedicated leader with experience in logistics, inventory management, and handling dangerous goods and also someone who can thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy developing people while making operations more efficient and compliant!
Join our growing team as a Dispatch & Warehouse Supervisor!
We're looking for someone with a passion for logistics, a strong attention to detail, and the confidence to lead a team in a high-responsibility environment. In this critical role, you’ll coordinate the day-to-day operations of our Dispatch function – ensuring all shipping, storage, and compliance needs are met to the highest standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee despatch activities including packing, storing, and shipping hazardous and non-hazardous goods
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and handle customs/export documentation
- Handle a dedicated warehouse team and ensure delivery deadlines are met
- Oversee courier tracking, third-party collections, and special delivery instructions
- Support inventory control, labelling, and segregation of expired and specialised waste
- Continuously improve workflows and maintain a safe, tidy warehouse environment
- Train, develop, and appraise team members, conducting regular check-ins
- Handle holiday, absence, and HR administration for your team
Qualifications
What You Bring
- Relevant qualification (Matric/NQF Level 4 or equivalent) – Logistics/Warehousing a plus
- Solid experience in Chemicals, FMCG, Distribution, or Supply Chain environments
- Excellent organisational and people management skills
- Strong understanding of handling and transporting dangerous/hazardous goods
- Experience with inventory software systems and critical metric tracking
- A calm, proactive attitude with the ability to solve problems and meet tight deadlines
