The Role
Despatch Operatives work in chilled storage to rotate and stock take inventory, select stock for customer orders, transfer pallets to the despatch bay, process consignment documentation, scan crates, verify pallet quantities and destinations, and maintain hygiene and safety standards. The role is physical, Monday to Friday on a 06:00–14:30 shift. Counterbalance forklift training is provided, and occasional additional hours or departmental duties may be required.

We have vacancies within a strong existing team for Despatch Operatives, whose goal is to assist in the efficient running of the Department. We are currently looking for operatives on a 06:00am – 14:30pm shift Monday to Friday. 

Responsibilities
  • Stack, rotate and stock take in chill storage
  • Select correct stock for assembling orders and transfer stock to despatch bay
  • Process relevant documentation for each consignment
  • Scan all crates on every pallet prior to despatch
  • Check that correct number of crates on each pallet have been scanned and correct destination recorded
  • Some associated duties in other departments when required
  • Ensure cleanliness and promote and maintain Health, Safety and Hygiene standards
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be comfortable working in a physical and chilled environment
  • Have a positive, enthusiastic and self-motivated outlook
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team
  • A flexible approach being prepared to work extra hours to meet customer demand
  • Ideally trained in Forklift (counterbalance), but training is provided
