Job Title: Commodities Desk Aligned Engineer

Citadel's commodities team seeks to generate alpha through directional and relative value strategies across both physical and financial commodities markets. We evaluate opportunities in natural gas, power, crude, and refined products, and agriculture, primarily in North America and Europe.
Citadel uses fundamental research, proprietary analytical methodologies, and quantitative analysis to drive our views. We join these techniques with an intense focus on understanding each market we trade, reflected in our ability to generate supply and demand balances for each commodity or product. A key part of this process is our advanced technology platform that allows us to quickly and deeply understand patterns within a market or product, conduct scenario analysis and improve the overall accuracy of our views.
Role:
We are seeking to hire desk aligned software engineer's to join the commodities engineering organization in Greenwich, CT. You will get the chance to
collaborate deeply with analysts and portfolio managers, core technology teams, operational teams, and risk to drive commercial results for the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with our trading, research and data teams to develop core analytics and deliver key initiatives for a commodities trading business
- Understand business challenges and drive technical/quantitative solutions
- Work with large data sets and build data analytics trading tools
- Integrate data and insights into models and investment processes
- Structure scalable, maintainable solutions, improving model frameworks and performance
- As a stakeholder in our advanced technology platform, drive enhancements that help maintain our competitive advantage
Required Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic record. BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science/Physics; or equivalent experience
- Excellent technology skills. Fluent in Python or comparable language. Experience using multiple programming languages is desirable.
- Experience with complex, multi-site, systems architectures, strong unix operating system knowledge and exposure to a variety of database technologies
- Highly motivated to work in a hands-on collaborative environment
- Commitment to excellence and strong attention to detail
