Knix is looking for a dynamic Designer to own the product design process from concept to production. As an essential part of the Product Design Team, you will be responsible for R&D, sketching, fabric exploration and prototyping. This is an exciting opportunity; integral to the growth and success of the Knix Intimates collection.

The Opportunity:

  • Collaborate with the Design Team to create original, innovative designs that accurately reflect our design philosophy and product roadmap. 

  • Participate in seasonal product and concept research to identify key trends that will translate into meaningful products for our customers.

  • Work with Product Design, Technical Design and the Sourcing Team to observe the seasonal calendar, as it relates to the company calendar to ensure launch dates are on target.

  • Partner with the Textile Innovation Manager on research and performance of new fabrics, constructions and finishes.

  • Partner with the Merchandising Team to execute on line plans and ensure designs meet expectations and targeted price points.

  • Establish and execute prototype sampling information, including fabrication, trim, colour, graphic applications, style, detail, and fit requirements.

  • Monitor the development of prototype samples and partner with Technical Design and Sourcing to exchange ideas and ensure timely execution.

  • Contribute during live fittings with the Technical Design Team to perfect fit.

  • Travel to vendors as needed to contribute to product research and development.

  • Partner cross functionally with Brand Creative and Marketing to ensure strong storytelling of product and collection releases.

  • Present seasonal line reviews to stakeholders across the organization.

  • Provide product knowledge presentations on a seasonal basis to various stakeholders across the organization.

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design.

  • 7+ years of design experience including experience in intimates and swimwear.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop), Excel and Google Documents 

  • Leadership skills and the ability to manage processes.

  • Extensive Garment construction knowledge.

  • A keen eye for product design and trends with an appreciation for innovation and a modern, trend-forward aesthetic.

  • Self-starter, driven by enhancing the consumer experience through superior product craft.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as a team and maintain a high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

Salary:

  • Annual salary starting at $80,000 CAD
