Godfrey Dadich Partners (GDP) combines the best of strategy, journalism, design, marketing, and digital to build story-driven brands. Our group includes Upstatement, a digital product studio, and Ghost Note, a brand and community creative studio. We are looking for a curious, highly motivated, collaborative, and detail-oriented designer to join our growing team.
You’re a strategic creative with design and art direction experience who balances design craft with strong concepts. You’re excited by the prospect of working for a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, design-centric firm where you’ll be asked to solve problems for an array of compelling clients using the highest level of insight and rigor.
This role is based in San Francisco and is in-person Tuesday to Thursday at our 564 Pacific Ave. studio, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Developing simple and elegant approaches to complex design problems that keep user goals, business needs, technical requirements, and project budgets in consideration.
- Working in lockstep with creative leadership, collaborating with a team of designers, copywriters, account managers, and strategists to refine and elevate design concepts, recommendations, and solutions.
- Working through all phases of the creative development process—ideation to execution.
- Working across multiple projects, maintaining a focused awareness of individual approaches and varied timelines.
Qualifications Include:
- 3+ years experience in an advertising agency environment, with a majority of those years devoted to creating innovative brand campaigns and initiatives, as well as brand identity systems.
- Strong knowledge of scaleable identity and/or editorial systems, well-developed skills in ideation and execution, and a world-class portfolio to back it up.
- Recognizes the importance of “the idea”—connecting design and strategy.
- Highly collaborative and resourceful with excellent communication skills. Must be able to articulate, annotate, and present the logic underlying proposed designs clearly and persuasively.
- A strong comfort level with an organic and iterative design process. Someone who approaches feedback as an opportunity to learn and improve as an individual and as a team member.
- Curiosity to seek out new trends and innovations in design. Has a keen interest in foundational design principles, particularly typography and grids.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Figma and the Adobe Suite and interest in learning newly emerging design tools. Familiarity with Keynote and Google Slides is a plus.
- Experience in storyboarding and designing for motion is a strong plus.
- Experience in product/web design and working in CMS workflows is a plus.

The salary range for this role is $88,000-$100,000.

Our salary offers take into consideration the skills and experience a candidate brings, pay equity across similar roles within GDP, and the market rate for similar roles outside of GDP. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant, along with the requirements of the position.
