JOB SUMMARY
As a member of Northeastern’s Marketing department, the Designer collaborates with others to conceptualize and design creative communications and marketing initiatives for varied audiences. The Designer applies an in-depth knowledge of color, design and typography to promote and elevate the university brand through high-visibility work, collaborating with cross-disciplinary team members and stakeholders to produce a wide range of projects.
This position is based on the Boston campus with the option of one remote day per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of marketing communications principles and print production processes.
- Composition, typography and skills.
- Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Illustrator. Figma and After Effects knowledge a plus.
- Other skills required include attention to detail; problem solving, initiative, verbal/written/presentation/interpersonal skills
- Attributes include optimism, collegiality, curiosity, and humility.
- Knowledge and skills required for this positions are typically acquired through a BA or BFA in graphic design or related field at at least three years of design experience that includes a track record of delivering fresh creative that works and a strong portfolio showcasing digital and print work highlighting skills in composition and typography.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
1) Promote and elevate the university brand through high-visibility work, collaborating with cross-disciplinary team members and stakeholders to produce a wide range of projects.
2) Support all aspects of conceptual graphic design, layout, design production, and general aesthetics for the content of several of the University's most important print and integrated communications.
3) Draws creative inspiration from everyday surroundings; ideate and conceptualize new ideas; build and maintain rapidly build fluency in brand guidelines and apply that expertise across all platforms
