Princess Polly is the global fashion brand at the forefront of trend-driven, lower impact and accessible apparel. Established as an online force in the Australian retail scene in 2010, Princess Polly quickly became the clothing brand found in every influencer haul, viral TikTok, Instagram OOTD and celeb street looks. Now, one of the fastest-growing online women's fashion brands in the USA, Princess Polly has been delivering the best online shopping experience to customers worldwide for over 10 years.

As a part of A.K.A Brands; we are a global player with offices located in Los Angeles and Australia’s Gold Coast. With big plans ahead, we're always on the hunt for new talent to join our global team.

Princess Polly is on the hunt for an experienced Designer to join our Product team. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and trend-driven designer who thrives in a fast-paced fashion environment.

You'll be responsible for designing and developing product ranges that resonate with the Princess Polly customer, balancing creativity, trend relevance, and commercial success. Working closely with Product Developers, Buyers, Suppliers, and Supply Chain, you'll help bring collections to life from concept through to production.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, create and execute collections in line with OTB and buying plans.

  • Develop trend-driven ranges for both Northern and Southern Hemisphere markets that reflect quarterly trends, customer insights, and best-selling product performance.

  • Research and analyse emerging fashion trends, competitor activity, and global market movements, translating them into commercially viable product opportunities.

  • Participate in collaborative workshops with the Creative and Buying teams to develop trend boards, colour palettes, seasonal concepts, and category strategies.

  • Attend fit sessions and provide technical direction to ensure garments meet fit, quality, and design expectations.

  • Create detailed technical sketches, specifications, and tech packs to support efficient product development and sampling.

  • Research and brief placement graphics, embroidery, print concepts, and yardage artwork to the Design Manager and Graphic Designer.

  • Partner closely with Product Developers and Suppliers throughout the development process to achieve design intent, quality standards, target margins, and critical path deadlines.

  • Build strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to support innovation, improve efficiencies, and maximise product lifecycle opportunities.

  • Continuously identify new product opportunities, fabrications, washes, trims, and design details relevant to the Princess Polly customer.

  • Mentor and support junior team members where required, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Deliver styles from concept to ex-factory within 8 weeks, using no more than two samples.

  • Design and tech pack approximately 15 styles per week across multiple categories while maintaining quality and margin expectations.

  • Consistently achieve company win/pass/fail percentage metrics.

  • Deliver commercially successful ranges that drive sales, profitability, and customer engagement.

  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the design and development process.

  • Actively contribute to a solutions-focused, innovative, and high-performing team culture.

What You'll Need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline.

  • 4+ years' experience in a Fashion Designer role within a fast-paced fashion retail or supplier environment.

  • Experience designing graphic tees, fleece, and fashion graphics is highly regarded, but not essential.

  • Demonstrated success designing commercially relevant ranges for a trend-focused customer.

  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, pattern making, grading, and manufacturing processes.

  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, as well as Excel and industry-standard design software.

  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to create accurate and detailed tech packs.

  • Excellent trend forecasting, market research, and commercial interpretation skills.

  • Fabric, wash, trim, and raw material knowledge.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with confidence using sales and performance data to inform design decisions.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple teams and suppliers.

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • A proactive, positive attitude and a genuine passion for product, fashion, and design.
