Your Role
As part of our Lifestyle Studio, you will join a centre of excellence dedicated to the successful delivery of hospitality & residential projects throughout the Asia-Pacific Middle East region and globally. Our Studio offers a unique opportunity to collaborate on some of the most exciting projects across the world, working directly alongside our teams of experts in other offices to provide clients with a seamless experience of top-quality design and technical detailing.
As a Gensler Senior Designer with Interior Design expertise in the Hospitality and Residential sectors, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge with your deep understanding of the hospitality & residential industry to produce functionally beautiful spaces for our clients. You will collaborate with our Design Directors and wider team of architects and designers to deliver unparalleled projects, leveraging your Revit skills and technical acumen to drive client projects from concept through completion.
You will lead the team to develop design solutions as well as coordinate the design through the design and detail development and construction documentation phase of a project. You will be successful because you already know how to translate the Designer's concept design presentations and visuals into developed design documentation through SD, DD and tender phases, including to Issue for construction, and you can research artistic and technical issues when they arise. What You Will Do
Collaborate on design projects, including programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, and design development
Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
Resolve complex technical and design issues
Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant
coordination
Provide project team coordination for the finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction
Participate in the construction administration of projects and review of submittals and finish samples
Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Your Qualifications
Advanced degree in Architecture or Interior Design preferred.
15+ years of related architecture and design experience, including a demonstrable ability to deliver projects from start to completion, with extensive experience in interior design project delivery.
Hospitality industry experience required, specifically experience in the design of guest rooms
Flexibility to focus on a variety of project types or multiple projects in various stages of development.
Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Outstanding graphic presentation skills
Revit skills are highly valued
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch Up and 3-D Studio Max preferred
Your Design Technology Qualifications
Deep understanding and expertise in Autodesk Revit for design authoring, documentation, data extracts and project delivery.
Deep understanding and expertise in the strategic planning, setup of BIM projects, and troubleshooting, specifically in the context of Revit and allied workflows.
Deep understanding and expertise with collaboration in the BIM context, including cloud-based markups, consultant coordination and clash detection.
Understanding of the capabilities and application of Information Management tools such as Aconex, Asite, Newforma, etc. Desirable:
Good working knowledge and experience in Rhinoceros for design authoring.
Good knowledge and experience with interoperability workflows between Rhino & Revit throughout all the stages of a project.
Good knowledge and experience with real-time rendering processes, and material creation & management within the context of integrated BIM workflows.
Basic understanding and familiarity with Computational Design applications such as Grasshopper and/or Dynamo.
Basic understanding and familiarity with simulation principles and processes, including interpretation, and application of results.
Deep knowledge and expertise in the setting up, troubleshooting and use of VR, AR, and XR for client presentations, consultant coordination and internal design reviews.
