Experienced level of professional controls engineering. The job typically requires a bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent. Under limited supervision, designs and drafts systems of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls for machines and equipment, such as arc welders, robots, conveyers, and programmable controllers, applying knowledge of electricity, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics. Designs and creates electrical control systems including control system architectural diagrams, electrical schematics, panel layouts, and bills of materials. May be responsible for the design and creation of PLC and HMI programs. Incumbents often interface with manufacturing during electrical system design and implementation

Preferred Qualifications

Qualifications and skills
• Minimum of 2 years of Automotive automation work experience, preferably body shop
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with PLC controls is required, any industry is acceptable (automotive is preferred)

• Past experience programming Omron PLC and Proface HMI (past experience with Honda Motors is a plus).
• Past experience programming Beckhoff PLC's
• HMI debug / commissioning skills, required
• Willingness to travel: 25%

Skills Required

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 4+ years of experience
