About the Role:The PCB Designer will play a pivotal role in developing high-density, mixed-technology printed circuit boards (PCBs) and their associated mechanical components. Adhering to both internal design standards and widely accepted industry guidelines, the PCB Designer will contribute to Spellman’s commitment to excellence in engineering, training, collaboration, and value-driven innovation.
What You Will Do:• Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, mechanical design, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet strict requirements and DFX guidelines for manufacturability and reliability.
• Participate in design reviews, refining design strategies and delivering essential outputs such as Bills of Materials (BOMs) and 2D drawings.
• Contribute to the mechanical design of advanced high-voltage power supplies used in medical imaging, analytical instrumentation, industrial test equipment, security, and underwater communication applications.
• Adhere to standard PCB manufacturing processes to ensure quality, compliance, and reliability.
• Stay current with technological innovations through continuous learning, supporting both personal career growth and team capabilities.
What You Need:Required Qualifications
- Experience designing PCBs with CAD tools such as Altium, PCAD, PADs, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit layout and electronic packaging principles.
- Proficiency in PCB-related mechanical design using AutoCAD, Inventor 3D, or similar CAD tools.
- Knowledge of BOM and ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the switching power supply industry.
- Background in general mechanical packaging design and 3D modeling.
Our good faith estimate for the salary for this position is $95,000-$110,000. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and other factors.
