Your Role
As a Designer with Gensler’s team in Washington DC, your role is to combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce purposeful, functional and beautiful spaces for our clients. You have an exceptional design sensibility, a background in interior architecture and interior design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. You will be an integral part of our teams and actively foster a respectful, creative, and inspiring design environment.
What You Will Do

Support interior design assignments that include interpreting client’s needs, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development and construction documentation
Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
Generate design with 3D models, Revit, Sketchup or other software, create digital 3D view to communicate design concepts
Generate interior finishes and reflected ceiling plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction
Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
Support coordination with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, or Interior Architecture from an accredited program
0-3 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
0-3 years of experience designing and delivering projects is required
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
Proficiency in Revit
Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
LEED accreditation or WELL AP is preferred
Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices

*The estimated base salary range for this position in the Washington, D.C. is $65,000- $75,000, plus eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation is contingent on location and relevant skills, qualifications and experience.
